KS2 Science Website

The Welsh Assembly Government, through its Department for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills (DCELLS) has commissioned CRIPSAT to develop a comprehensive set of digital activities to support teaching and learning in KS2 science. The resources will be available in English and Welsh and be based on the new National Curriculum Order for Science, (implemented September 2008). The activities will cover the Key Stage two science curriculum and embed the principles of the new Skills Framework for Wales, which includes developing thinking skills. The resources will be up-to-date and innovative and incorporate the Curriculum Cymreig and Personal and Social Education.

Each activity will include a combination of interactive elements, including video clips, and in many instances links to external files to support blended learning. The resources will not be on a stand-alone website but will form an integral part of the National Grid for Learning Virtual Teachers’ Centre (http://www.ngfl-cymru.org.uk). The project is due for completion at the end of 2009.
